The 18th World Senior Chess Championship will take place in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany from 28 October to 8 November, 2008.

The Championship shall be played in 11 rounds of the Swiss System.

The winner of the tournament will become Senior World Champion of the year and will receive the Gold medal and title of Grandmaster.
